Starting from 2020, ESAFORM presents a “Best Communication Award” for papers and presentations at the annual ESAFORM conference. The aim of this award is to promote research activities in material forming and young researchers, engaged in a PhD activity, to help them gain European/international recognition.
The Best Communication Awards 2026 are awarded to:
Gold medal
Mr Lukas Kersting from Fraunhofer IEM, Germany
Title: “Reducing the uncertainty in flow forming of metastable austenites”
Silver medal
Mr Jan-Erik Rath from Hamburg University of Technology, Germany
Title: “Hot Double Sided Incremental Forming of Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics: Process Capabilities and Challenges”
Bronze medal
Mr Fares Nouira from Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, Germany
Title: “Parameter Optimization and Data-Driven Soft-Sensor Framework for Torque Prediction in Bobbin-Tool Friction Stir Welding of AA2024”
